About the Contest Rule Book

Before you begin work on your entry, you, your teacher, and your parents should carefully read this booklet. This guidebook contains rules that you must follow to compete in any level of the National History Day (NHD) competition. More information on topics, sources, and deadlines are available from your district and state NHD coordinators. This rule book was published this year. Always contact your district or state coordinator to learn if any rules have been revised since the publication of this rule book.

The NHD Contest Rule Book on the web site has the same content as the printed version. You can click here and print the NHD Contest Rule Book. If you have trouble with the PDF file, please e-mail National History Day: Nebraska at amclaugh@nebrwesleyan.edu and ask for a printed version.  Please include your address and phone number in the email.

To Print the PDF File

To print the NHD Contest Rule Book from Adobe Acrobat press the printer button (looks like printer) in the tool bar at the Adobe Acrobat window or press the "Ctrl" and "P" keys on your keyboard at the same time. DO NOT try to print the contest guide by hitting the print button in your browser (i.e. Explorer or Netscape) or by pulling down the "File" Window from your internet browser and clicking "Print"

To Save the PDF File

You can download the PDF file to your computer by clicking the save button in toolbar at the top of the Adobe Acrobat window (the button looks like a computer disk). DO NOT try to save the file by pulling down the "File" Window on your Internet browser (i.e. Explorer or Netscape) and clicking your mouse on "Save As."
